Driving systemic justice for women and girls.
We dismantle the barriers that block access to equality. Through dedicated legal advocacy, institutional capacity building, and direct survivor support, FIDA SS is actively shaping a more just South Sudan.
Our Vision
We envision a just South Sudan where women’s dignity, human rights, and total equality are unconditionally respected, fiercely protected, and continually promoted across every level of society.
Our Mission
To strengthen the capacity of women and national institutions to champion justice, gender equality, peacebuilding, and women’s participation. We achieve this through robust legal aid, precise advocacy, capacity building, and high-level policy engagement.
How we organize our interventions across the nation
Access to Justice and Legal Aid
Deploying static and mobile legal clinics, paralegal networks, pro-bono legal referrals, and specialized prison legal aid to ensure representation reaches the most vulnerable.
GBV Prevention and Response
Providing direct legal representation for survivors of gender-based violence, managing psychosocial referrals, and coordinating comprehensive GBV referral pathways.
Women’s Leadership and Peace
Championing UNSCR 1325 implementation, engaging women in transitional justice mechanisms, and executing targeted leadership training to elevate female voices in public life.
Land, Economic and Inheritance Rights
Advocating for equitable land distribution, securing women's inheritance rights through the courts, and pushing for gender-responsive national budgeting.
Sexual and Reproductive Health
Promoting Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE), engaging in maternal health policy advocacy, and conducting adolescent SRHR outreach in marginalized communities.
Children, Peace and Security
Ensuring robust child protection frameworks, facilitating complex family tracing, and navigating the juvenile justice system for minors caught in legal distress.
Institutional Capacity Building
Providing specialized training for the judiciary, police forces, customary courts, and paralegals, supported by advanced MREL and digital case database integration.
Communications and Digital Outreach
Leveraging widespread radio campaigns, creating impactful IEC materials, and utilizing social media to build robust digital legal-awareness platforms.
